A Nigerian national was reportedly arrested by Mozambican authorities and imprisoned alongside other protesters in a tense political climate.
The individual allegedly executed and whose identity is yet to be fully disclosed, was said to be part of a group involved in recent protests, which have sparked widespread unrest in the country.
According to a post on X (formerly Twitter), by @PIDOMNIGERIA, the Nigerian was said to be among those incarcerated when revolutionaries launched an attack on the prison, freeing the detained protesters.
The X post reads: “Nigerian was arrested by the police authorities in Mozambique and thrown into prison alongside other protesters.
“He was rescued by the revolutionaries that attacked the prison to free protesters.
He was interviewed few minutes after escaping from prison on handcuffs.
“The police traced him, rearrested him, and summarily executed him with others whom i can’t confirm their nationalities.
“The killers even confirmed him to be a Nigerian.
What is our government doing to save her citizens? Mozambique is boiling.
The post has elicited reactions.
Allnaijadiaspora reports that a X user, identified as good health 247, wrote under the post saying “Lesson to every Nigerian especially Igbos, there’s no place like home. Invest in your home. The world is in turmoil and we the Igbos are hated.”
Another user with name @real_gloria said ” You’re asking what our govt is going to protect it’s people, as if the govt cares about those of us at home here?
We’ve always been the ones fighting for ourselves here, it’s such a pity.

Abdullahi Ali Geidam wrote:”We must avenge the death of our brother in Mozambique. The perpetrators of this heinous crime must be hunted down and brought to justice. Mr President plz don’t let this fly. Justice! Justice! Justice !”
