Supporters of Donald Trump gathered in Florida on election night, celebrating as the former president secured key wins in his bid for a return to the White House. Many expected him to address the crowd as his victories mounted.
At the Palm Beach County Convention Center, men in suits and women in dresses mingled with devoted Trump fans, many sporting the iconic red “Make America Great Again” caps. Some wore more casual attire, while others proudly displayed Trump’s name, like one supporter in a leather vest emblazoned with his name.
“I feel like Trump has won this election. This is over, and the world’s about to get much greater,” said 22-year-old Moses Abraham.
With Trump edging closer to a potential victory over Kamala Harris, his Democratic rival faces a narrowing path to stop his political comeback.
“It feels like 2016 all over again. I’m very optimistic about tonight. Donald Trump is the right fit for America,” said Jo Ann Poly Calvo, a supporter at the event.
‘No Faith in Her’
Florida has become a second home for Trump, who resides at his Mar-a-Lago estate, a Republican stronghold in the state’s southeast, as he faces legal battles in New York. Some attendees at the event expressed nervousness about the close race, while others remained confident.
Rocco Talarico, 68, wore a “MAGA” cap and a leather vest that read “Born to Ride” and “Donald Trump.” He was hopeful that Trump would emerge victorious, citing concerns about issues he felt had worsened under the current administration.
“We need Trump because our country has no borders, crime is high, the stock market is struggling, and gas and food prices are up. Kamala Harris did nothing for four years,” he remarked.
Mike McCormack, 50, was even more critical of Harris, stating, “I don’t think Trump can be easily influenced, but I feel Harris is controlled. I have no faith in her.” He also expressed skepticism about the election process, a sentiment Trump has often voiced, claiming without evidence that his opponents are attempting to prevent his victory.
“There’s been some questionable activity around elections. People have been arrested for voter fraud. So, I don’t know,” McCormack added.
As the night continued, Trump supporters remained hopeful for a major political comeback.
