The Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Americas (NIDO) has announced plans for a Nigerian Day Commemoration in Sacramento, Northern California, scheduled for May 3, 2025. This landmark cultural event aims to unite Nigerians abroad, celebrate Nigerian heritage, and promote cross-cultural understanding.
According to a statement from Gift Ibezim-Eze, Managing Director of CEKO Ventures & Associates LLC, the event will showcase Nigeria’s rich culture through traditional music, dance, art, and cuisine, providing attendees with an immersive experience that highlights the vibrant essence of Nigerian life.
“This event will attract a diverse audience, including Nigerians, Americans, and individuals from various backgrounds, fostering meaningful cultural exchange,” Ibezim-Eze stated.
She emphasized the importance of securing sponsorship to ensure the event’s success. “We are seeking financial support to cover event expenses and create a high-quality experience for everyone involved. Proceeds will also contribute to establishing a fully equipped Old People’s Home in Nigeria, focusing on mental health services for the elderly.”
Sponsorship levels range from Basic Sponsorship at $300 to Platinum Sponsorship at $15,000 and above. Ibezim-Eze noted that sponsorship options in Naira are also available for convenience.
Funds raised will support logistics, including venue rental, artist fees, travel expenses, and marketing activities. Sponsorship benefits include brand visibility through promotional materials, on-site advertising, and public recognition during the event and across social media platforms.
Furthermore, all sponsors and donors will be honored on a Wall of Fame within the gated community, symbolizing the lasting impact of their contributions. “This event is not just a celebration of Nigeria’s culture; it’s an opportunity to give back to those in need. We believe our sponsors will benefit from exposure and networking opportunities while making a significant difference in Nigeria,” Ibezim-Eze added.
NIDO invites organizations and individuals to join in this meaningful initiative, underscoring the shared values of cultural diversity and community service. Together, they aim to create a remarkable event with a lasting legacy.
