The Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has praised Manyi Affangha, the winner of the Face of Culture Africa, for her significant contributions to addressing social issues in Nigeria.
Dabiri-Erewa, represented by the Director of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols at NiDCOM, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, made the commendation during a courtesy visit by Affangha and her team to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja. She applauded Affangha’s dedication to using her platform to combat hunger, poverty, and the abuse of the female child, noting that this commitment has opened new opportunities for her to expand her impact.
As a strong advocate for youth empowerment, Dabiri-Erewa encouraged Affangha to continue mentoring younger Nigerians, particularly as many youths are increasingly drawn to negative societal behaviors. She also advised the beauty queen to represent Nigeria with honor and apply the skills she gains for the country’s development.
Affangha, who was recently nominated to represent Nigeria at the UN Best Diplomats Conference in London this September, expressed her surprise and determination to uphold Nigeria’s reputation on the global stage. She is focused on initiatives aimed at poverty alleviation, girl-child education, and youth empowerment, with projects already benefiting states like Rivers, Cross River, Enugu, and the Federal Capital Territory since her victory in 2023.
Affangha expressed her gratitude to Dabiri-Erewa for her support and vowed to use her influence to promote African culture while furthering her efforts to improve the lives of the underprivileged.
