U.S. president’s son found guilty of gun crimes in Delaware

Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden’s son, was found guilty on Tuesday of three felony charges related to his attempt to obtain a firearm in 2018 while struggling with drug addiction.

Hunter Biden, who had pleaded not guilty in October following his indictment by special counsel David Weiss, was arraigned in Wilmington, Delaware, a city where the Biden family has long held influence.

This marks the first time in history that the son of a sitting president has faced a criminal trial and been found guilty.

The trial follows closely on the heels of former President Donald Trump’s conviction on felony charges related to a hush money payment intended to influence the 2016 presidential election. The verdict in Trump’s case has been viewed by many as partisan, with expectations among legal experts that it may be overturned on appeal.

Hunter Biden is also scheduled to face a tax fraud charge in California in September, now entering that trial as a convicted felon.
