Nigerian fashion powerhouse Deji & Kola marks a giant leap in its global mission with the grand opening of its first UK store. Founded by the Olabintan brothers in 2017, the brand sets its sights on international acclaim with this move.
“This is a dream come true,” said Kolapo Olabintan, Creative Lead. The 1162.5 sq ft store in Kent’s St. Georges Shopping Centre promises an “exhilarating journey” of fashion and culture. Strategically located near London, it offers a perfect launchpad for global expansion.
Kent’s diverse and stylish population makes it ideal to “explore the dynamics of scaling globally,” Olabintan explains. This follows the success of their Calgary store in May 2023.
With over half their clientele from the US, Canada, and UK, the brand has a strong international connection. The UK’s large Nigerian diaspora (over 200,000) further emphasizes the expansion’s significance. Deji & Kola aims to redefine culturally-inspired fashion experiences for this group and a wider audience.
Their new collection, “Sundown on Mars,” blends earthly elegance with Martian mystery, promising to captivate with innovative designs. Celebrate with them at the exclusive preview on March 23rd, 2023, from 10 AM at the Kent store.
